Ellyn is so excited to be part of her 7th season with DWNYC and her first season as a choreographer! Before finding DanceWorks New York City, Ellyn started dancing at the age of two, and competitively since the age of 7, in all styles of dance. In high school she began training at Dream Center Dance Academy where her love for dance flourished more than ever. Ellyn went on to study education and speech pathology, with an undeclared minor in dance, at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While at UMass, Ellyn was a member of their nationally ranked dance team, performing at sports games, concerts, and traveling to NDA Nationals. After college, Ellyn attended Teachers College at Columbia University, receiving a dual masters in Teaching of the Deaf and Elementary Education. This means that Ellyn not only talks non-stop, but signs too! After graduation Ellyn found DanceWorks New York City through a fellow UMass Alum and began working as a full time teacher, working at her home dance studio and being a part of DWNYC! DanceWorks has given her such an incredible last (almost) three years and she couldn’t be more honored and grateful to be a part of such a talented group of dancers setting the stage for a wonderful 13th season!
