Rachel Ross grew up dancing in Portland, Oregon. As a young girl, Rachel took dance classes and attended camps throughout the state of Oregon. She discovered her favorite styles were jazz, hip hop, and contemporary. Her passion for dance was realized early in high school with daily 6am rehearsals. Rachel maintained captain and being a member of the choreography team, as well as making the 2008 All State Team her final year. She attended Portland State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree with a minor in dance. Rachel’s dance career started with the Portland Winterhawks Dance Team, the Rosebuds, where she danced on ice during hockey games for two seasons. The Rose Garden was her next home where she danced for the Portland Trail Blazers NBA Dance Team, the Blazerdancers, for three seasons. She had the opportunity to perform at over 100 home games and dance overseas. After her incredible journey in Portland, Rachel moved to New York, and started a new chapter with DanceWorks. This is now her fourth season and second season as a choreographer. Rachel is thankful to be surrounded by such amazing talent and a loving, funny, genuine community of dancers.
