Chelsea grew up on Long Island and attended Michele Cody’s Dance Center from 5 years old until she was 18. It was there that she developed a love of dance, training in ballet and competing on the tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop teams.

As a marketing major, in order to keep dance in her life throughout college, Chelsea auditioned for Adelphi University's competition hip-hop team, Evolution. After only a few months with the team, she fell in love with hip-hop in a way she never did in high school. One of her proudest dance moments with Evolution was competing in Prelude NY, a huge urban dance competition.

After graduating college, Chelsea knew she needed to continue dancing. Before learning about DanceWorks, she felt as though there weren’t opportunities on Long Island to join a dance community and perform as an adult. So, she decided to start her own hip-hop competition team, After Dark Dance Company. In addition to managing ADDC, Chelsea choreographed, danced, and ran fundraisers for the team. The company was small but mighty and ran for about three years until it was time to retire.

Finally, in 2022 Chelsea discovered DanceWorks NYC! Getting back up on stage after a 4-year hiatus was easily a highlight of the last year. She feels incredibly honored to be a 2nd time DWNYC choreographer and is excited to share this experience with her co-choreographer and long-time friend, Isaiah!
