Gabriel started dancing as a middle schooler in San Diego at The Bishop’s School and started choreographing as a member of Bishops’ Performing Dance Group in high school alongside his co-choreographer, Alex Krstić, under the mentorship of Donna Cory. Gabriel continued his love of dance and choreography at Columbia, where he was a part of a number of contemporary and hip-hop groups, including Orchesis, Raw Elementz, and NuDance. After graduating from Columbia with a degree in medical humanities, Gabriel worked in transportation advocacy and organizing in New York City, and is starting his masters degree in landscape architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design this fall. This is Gabriel’s second season with DanceWorks and his first season choreographing.
